Glenfinnan, UK: August 15, 2015

After checking out of our hotel early the next day, we were among the first cars to arrive at the ferry that would take us from Isle of Skye to the mainland. We loaded the ferry and relaxed on the boat before braving the drive to our next destination: Glenfinnan Viaduct.
But first, time to get lost for a bit! The GPS had us stopping at a different location that we KNEW wasn’t accurate, so my sister drove around until we found the right stop. The Glenfinnan Viaduct is famous for the train scenes that are in the Harry Potter movies. Sadly, we would be missing the train passing by since it wouldn’t come until later in the day. Nevertheless, the views were gorgeous and breathtaking.
The next stop was Glencoe. In my research of Glencoe, I knew we had to stop based on the beautiful photos I saw. Of course, we got lost again! At this point, it was raining and we arrived to the museum drenched. Not only was Glencoe captivating, but there was a lot of history that we learned as well, such as the massacre that occurred there in the 1600’s. We took many pictures and visited for about an hour before making it to our next stop.
We arrived in Callender for a quick bite to eat and to explore the little town. But this was just a stopping point (because we were SO hungry) before making our way to Doune castle. This castle was extra special because it was used in the filming of the show Outlander and Monty Python & the Holy Grail.
After a long day of travel, we arrived to our overnight hotel called Crosskeys, which was attached to a pub.
